Ki Teitzei – Already at War

If You Forget You’re At War, You’ve Already Lost

Ki Teitzei – Already at War

The Torah doesn’t say if you go out to war.

It says when.

Because the war is already here.

In your chest. In your head. At your table.

This week, seventy-four mitzvos rain down like orders from high command:

Build the fence before someone falls.

Pay the worker before the sun sets.

Guard your camp. Guard your home. Guard your brother.

“When you go out to war against your enemies” (Devarim 21:10).

Know that the first enemy is your yetzer.

Your only job is to conquer it.

And Amalek waits at the edge, striking the tired and the weak.

If you forget you’re at war, you’ve already lost.

Every moment is combat training.

You think Torah is just interesting lessons?

A Rebbe of mine once called that Mental-Tickle-Yomi.

it’s not a game.

Orders.

So are you going to war? Is it a maybe?

Are you asking how to prepare?

A Gibor knows it’s already raging.

Fight tired.

Fight tempted.

Fight broken and a failure.

Fight anyway.

Hashem fights with you.
